Dry Eye

A Chronic Disease

What Is Dry Eye?

One of the most common eye conditions treated by physicians, dry eye is an irritating and sometimes painful condition in which the eye fails to properly produce enough quality tears. Your eyes may feel irritated—gritty, burning, stinging, itchy, or just tired. If left untreated, it can lead to blurred vision and even ulcers and scars on the cornea.

Dry Eye Treatment

People who suffer from dry eye often include those who wear contact lenses (especially for prolonged periods), take certain medications, have underlying autoimmune disorders, are over the age of 50 and post-menopause, or simply live in dry environments. Luckily, there are a number of treatments beyond artificial tears that are now available. Dr. Zhu can let you know which ones are right for you.
